The village of Henri-Chapelle is best known for the 57-acre American military cemetery that lies two miles to the west. 7,989 American soldiers killed in 1944-45 lie buried there, most of whom died during the Battle of the Bulge. There is a small museum with a map room and other exhibits on the events towards the end of WWII.
